Installation & Important Notes

Professional Installation Strongly Recommended

Because this upgrade involves your vehicle’s airbag system, professional installation by a qualified technician is strongly recommended. Always disconnect the battery and wait for the airbag system to discharge before working near any airbag component. Improper installation can lead to airbag failure or unintended deployment.

Basic Installation Overview (For Reference Only)

1. Disconnect the battery and wait at least 2 minutes for the airbag system to discharge.

2. Remove the factory airbag module by releasing the spring clips through the three access holes behind the wheel spokes. Use a small flathead screwdriver to push against the spring‑loaded metal clip to release the airbag.

3. Disconnect the airbag and controls harness, then remove the steering wheel center bolt (typically 21mm or a triple‑square socket).

4. Transfer your original airbag , controls, wiring, and trim to the new TT-ABC wheel. The airbag connector has three tiny clips that should be handled with care to avoid breakage.

5. Install the new steering wheel onto the column, ensuring perfect alignment, and torque the center bolt to factory specification (approximately 40–50 Nm / 30–37 ft‑lb).

6. Reconnect the battery and test all functions, including audio controls, cruise control, and paddle shifters. Verify that the airbag warning light turns off.

Airbag & Controls Transfer

• This steering wheel is sold without an airbag module, airbag cover, or electronic components.

• You will transfer your factory airbag, cover, wiring harness, and controls from your original wheel.

• The airbag bolts to the new wheel using the original hardware.

• All factory functions (audio, cruise, phone, paddles) will work normally after transfer.

Heated Steering Wheel Function
